FLIPPING BOOK CHRONICLE 2024

and Africa by Toto. The third quarter was a busy one for the Chamber Choir with performances at the Women’s Day celebration at Michaelhouse, a performance at the Hilton Arts Festival and the joint concert with the University of Pretoria Youth Choir. The Chamber Choir also performed at Garth Finnemore’s memorial service, both at Michaelhouse and at Mt Edgecombe in Durban, where they were able to bring a small measure of peace and calm to those in attendance. During the third quarter, the choir went into a studio to record their repertoire, an experience enjoyed by everyone. The highlight of the third quarter was the tour to the St Peter’s College Sport and Arts Festival in Johannesburg at the beginning of the holidays. In freezing conditions, the choir performed their full repertoire to a standing ovation in the St Peter’s theatre. The fourth quarter saw the choir performing their African Montage at Speech Day. They also performed at the joint concert with the Drakensberg Boys Choir, as well as performances at the Karlkloof Garden Show and Piggly Wiggly. The boys ended the year on a high with beautiful renditions of Silent Night and the Coventry Carol at the two carol services. The Chamber Choir have come along in leaps and bounds in 2024 and are making a beautiful sound. We are very excited to see what they achieve in 2025.
