topic. And you must have resilience. If you have all of these qualities, or develop them, then I have little doubt that you will succeed to the maximum of your ability. Good luck to you! It is now my pleasure to announce the recipients of the internal scholarships for 2024. These relate to the Sir Henry Strakosch Scholarship and the John W Hamilton Internal Scholarship. Both of these awards are based on the results in 2023. The Sir Henry Strakosch Scholarship is awarded to one boy in each Block for the best combined mark in Mathematics and Science in the previous year. The awards for 2024 are: E Block – Raif Jinnah; D Block – Matthew Longmore; C Block – Reily Elliot; and B Block – Patrick Lambert. The John W Hamilton Internal Scholarship is awarded for one year to the boy with the top aggregate in his Block and who is not a recipient of another academic scholarship. This year the John W Hamilton Scholarships are awarded to: E Block – Raif Jinnah; D Block – Graydon Leslie; C Block – shared by Reily Elliot and Roelof Rossouw; and B Block – Patrick Lambert. Well done to the recipients of these two important scholarships.

It entails being tough on yourself, continuing to put in the hard yards, learning from failure and sticking to your guns. So, just to recap for you, I’ve suggested that there are six things that will bring you success in terms of your own capability. You must have ambition and set out to want to do well. You must be academically curious and seek to go deeper into a subject. You must have determination, which means that you revise the humdrum material and do your best to be ahead of the game. May I end by congratulating the prize winners this evening. It is your day and you have every right to be proud of yourselves.
