looked up to by the other Houses and this is something Mr Shezi, the tutors of East and its boys can certainly take pride in. This roller coaster of a year has certainly been one to remember. We are often very spoiled by the House braais that we receive, which only make the bond between us stronger. It has been an extremely successful year for East and for all the boys and staff involved in it. The award for the Spirit of Ubuntu is carefully chosen by the members of staff and Head of House, and voted for by the boys of East. This award goes to boys who we believe represent ubuntu in their daily lives and give 100% of their effort at all times. The 2023 year was enthusiastically kick-started by the arrival of 13 boys who managed quickly to become part of the East family. Although arriving at a new school and trying to fit into a new environment is often difficult, these boys slipped smoothly into the Michaelhouse way of things. They have had their fair share of highs and lows, all part of the brotherhood and special memories they will share of their five years here. Connor Wilson played U14A water polo and was vice-captain as well as receiving the best defender award.
