cademic scholarship exams were again written at centres around South Africa, including Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg, Pretoria, East London, and in the Science Lecture Theatre closer to home in Balgowan. With very little interest in the option to write language papers in Afrikaans or isiZulu, the decision was taken to again offer an English Language exam only, along with the Mathematics paper and a third exam to stretch the candidates’ faculties in the form of a 45-minute discursive essay, for a second year.

Testing, auditions and assessments for other scholarship categories were again hosted at the school in late March.
