is so special after a three-year break as the friendships of old are rekindled and those who have walked the quads in bygone days retrace the steps from their formative years and, in most cases, reflect with pride or satisfaction or enjoyment or all three on their experiences here. Michaelhouse, of course, has characteristically moved forward over the intervening years. With the addition of new Houses such as Ralfe and McCormick recently, we feel strong with 623 boys in the school and a number on waiting lists, wanting to come off the bench and be here. t is a great pleasure and privilege to address you in person, rather than online, on the occasion of the AGM of the Old Boys’ Club and the honour bestowed on any Rector in being patron of the Old Boys is not lost on me. It underlines the very close working relationship which I have with the Old Boys’ Central Committee and the extent to which I value the leadership of Wayne Witherspoon as President and Sean Lumley as Vice President, as well as the generosity of so many Old Boys in terms of their time and resources.
