The D Block are starting to find their feet in the House and continued to make progress throughout the year. They are a strong group and have become extremely tight over the past two years, culminating in this year’s achievements and successes. Lance Price Moor represented South Africa for polocrosse and went on tour to Zimbabwe. Alex Arde played an important role in the U15A and sevens rugby programmes and the U15A waterpolo team. Thato Moumakwa was in both the Chapel and the prestigious Midlands Youth Choir. Jack Glutz played for the U15A fives hockey side. Justin Higginson played first team squash which is a massive achievement considering that he is in D Block and he also made the KwaZulu-Natal squash side. Justin was also selected to play for the stayers’ water polo side. Oliver Bruyns was equally successful on the sporting front, playing U15A rugby, cricket, and sevens. He also captained the U15A rugby side. The most significant part of the C Block year is undoubtedly the C Block Journey. An opportunity like this to hike, paddle, cycle and learn more about oneself is certainly a life-changing experience and is an experience complete with memories which will be shared for years to come. Our C Block boys have enjoyed considerable success throughout the year. Michael Spencer represented U16A for cricket, rugby, and soccer, captaining the U16A soccer side and going on to make the Midlands soccer team. James Reeve played alongside Michael in the U16A cricket side. Matteo Valente has been one of our key members in swimming galas and claimed the silver medal in his age group at the annual inter-House gala. Ike Githinji and Ngaa Chikarango both represented the U16A basketball side and Ntando Mbhele represented the second basketball team as vice-captain. Sean Robinson earned his KwaZulu-Natal B fly fishing colours. Sazi Mbatha played for the first soccer XI which is an outstanding achievement for a C Blocker. Several of the C Block boys were also involved in the senior marimba band.
