Dylan McCoy, Joshua Capazario, Andrew Bevis Challinor and Ntando Ndlazi placed in the top ten during the academic year. The A Block is a group of boys close to my heart for obvious reasons. We started out as a gang of mischievous young boys each with our unique talents making us unique; and each has found his own path whilst at Michaelhouse. We have been through some tough times together which have only made us stronger. We are a strong academic House, and received the academic effort and overall academic shield at Prize Giving in February. Reuben Baldry must be commended for coming second in the Block along with David Nienaber for getting honours for academics as well as his colours for music. Dom De Billot received the Elliot Commerce Award for achieving the top combined Accounting and Economics mark for the year. Tom Szudrawski received honours for Music, and it is great that his talents were recognised. Samuel Berchowitz represented the first waterpolo team as captain and also received honours for the sport. He played alongside Josh Haswell who received his honours for swimming and broke a few swimming records that had stood for numerous years at the inter-House gala. Commendations also go to Jeremy Foss who captained both the first cricket and hockey XIs while Asante Rikhotso earned two starting caps for the first XV.

May we take the memories and bonds we have formed here into the future. I would like to thank the West boys, tutors, Housemaster and Michaelhouse for helping to mould me into who I am today and am honoured to join the long list of Old Boys.
