House Prefects: Christopher Townshend, Maximilliano Scribante, Byron Mitchell-Innes, Oliver Gauntlet, Carter Karan, Jack Shooter East is a House like no other. Its long-lasting traditions which are infused into its DNA have been enhanced by the introduction of UBUNTU into our daily lives “I AM BECAUSE WE ARE”. East continues to grow through this commitment. We expect 100% effort towards this ideal from every boy in East. This year I challenged every boy in the House to learn from their past mistakes, add the lessons of Ubuntu and build from there for a strong and successful year. Many found new ways to meet the challenge. An unbreakable brotherhood is evident in the House, from E all through to A Block; we all stand and fight for each other striving towards the common goal of flying the East flag high. The year also came with its challenges but mainly it came with a fresh breeze as we were once again introduced to the normal routine. Given another chance at freedom the boys in the House grabbed this opportunity by the horns and made sure to make their names known in all aspects of the school. E

The start of 2022 brought a lot of new faces into our brotherhood. This group is filled with potential and will achieve much in the years to come on their Michaelhouse journey. Henry Love, Victor North (top run scorer at Hilton festival) and Michael Smithyman all represented the U14A cricket side. Nicola Salamousas and Tyron Kaufmann represented the U14A basketball team, while Ross Ferguson U14A waterpolo. Harry Witherspoon (tenth overall on the inter-schools podium and district trialist) and Victor North (sixth overall) represented the school’s league-winning junior cross-country team. Henry Love made the step up into the first tennis team which is an amazing achievement in his first year at the red brick fortress. Leruo Sento made his mark in the water representing both the schools and Botswana national swimming teams! Nicola Salamousas, Victor North and Tyron Kaufmann all played U14A rugby (both fifteens and sevens). Nicola was named captain of the U14 Titans Rugby Club team which toured the UK in December. Henry Love and Vuyisa Mqokiyana both played U14A hockey. Tyron Kaufmann and Dylan Drew both represented the U14A soccer XI. With Harry Witherspoon coming top ten in the grade, this E Block group stamped their mark on many aspects of life at Michaelhouse during their first year.
