very demanding physically hence both Hilton and Michaelhouse host mini festivals on the two weekends when there are no formal tournaments. We have also built a relationship with nearby schools including Treverton, Voortrekker, Weston and Wembley where we arrange matches for our more social sides. This year we were also able to host the Maun Pups which is a touring team comprised of boys from various schools in Botswana. It was a wonderful experience for both them and our boys who got to know and assist them. With the growing interest in the sport and enthusiasm of the boys, we fielded more teams than ever before and played some fantastic sevens. Not only did we see the skill levels of the players improve week on week, but we also saw the emergence of boys who had not necessarily been stars in the longer version of the game. I expect we will see even more impressive performances on our rugby fields from these boys next year as a result of what they have learned this sevens season. The cherry on top for the season was the news that Michaelhouse have been invited to participate in the Rugby School International Festival in the 2023 Easter Holidays. The event is to celebrate the 200th anniversary of William Webb Ellis starting the game of rugby and we will be the school representing South Africa. What a privilege for the boys and Michaelhouse.

Half Colours: Joshua Aissing, Tristan Arde, Thomas Carmody, Luke Davidson, Andrew Davis, Jack Hughes, Fortune Mpofu, Campbell Ridl and Graham Wynne. SPECIAL AWARDS Mark Richards Most Valuable Sevens Player: Graham Wynne evens at Michaelhouse has grown both in numbers and success over the last five years. It is played solely in the third quarter and only in two age groups, opens (U16-18) and juniors (U14-15) and provides a wonderful opportunity to focus on core skills as well as integrating boys from the different age groups. A standard week consists of two training days and a tournament or festival on the weekends. We introduced the Michaelhouse Touch League (MTL) in the open age group on Tuesdays with a view to focussing on fun and fitness at the same time as catching, passing and teamwork. Thursdays involved preparing the teams for their weekend fixtures. S
