returning to normal and the boys continued their hard work in preparing for the season which paid dividends. Much credit must go to the senior core of first XV players lead by Andrew Davis who were real role models both on and off the field and played such an important role in re-establishing Michaelhouse as a competitive rugby school in the province. Our first fixtures involved Helpmekaar touring from Johannesburg and it was fantastic for our age group A teams and top three open teams to play a new and strong opposition school. The games were more trial chukka formats without scores being kept, but they were tightly contested and proved invaluable ahead of the full school fixture against Glenwood in a steamy Durban the following weekend. We had not played Glenwood away since 2016 when we were taught a rugby lesson. This time round our teams did us proud playing some great rugby and coming away with eleven wins, six losses and a draw. The U15C side recorded the biggest win of the day with a resounding 51-0 victory and the second XV the tightest with a 19-14 cliff hanger where our boys successfully defended their try line for the last ten minutes of the game. The first XV unfortunately lost 10-17 but certainly put up a good showing. The school then broke up for the Easter Holidays and the U15A, U16A, second and first XVs all participated in festivals which
