In his U16 year, I did not know what to think of this player – he showed brilliance disrupted by moments of mental absenteeism. This changed last season, where he was invaluable as a player and this year, he continued to show athleticism, decisiveness and a magnificent sense of humour. We recognize and congratulate your year.

This was almost unanimous and I think credits his character and the impact he has had on this squad.

Last year’s coach of the year was placed in the spotlight for his results and his unusual training regime, it was definitely a sense of quantity that would prevail. This year, we recognize a coach who gave freely. He coached his own team, took over coaching when other coaches were unavailable, he manufactured time to give to players at his own cost – and was still our second most successful coach – Siyabonga “we see you”.

The Dowie Family Trophy is awarded to a player who showed skill, sportsmanship, service and humility. The awardee this year is beloved by his teammates for his strength and determination. He is skillful. He has moved this club forward by inspiring and helping others in the club. And he is certainly humble. I believe
