food that perfectly suited the theme. Behind the scenes, a small army worked tirelessly to make the evening shine. Parents, maintenance teams, ground staff and security personnel all gave of their time and energy so generously, ensuring that every detail was perfect. Their ef forts and care truly embodied the spirit of community that defines Michaelhouse. The night carried an extra layer of sentiment as it marked the final Matric Ball for the Rector, Mr Antony Clark. In a heartfelt moment, the boys gathered around him to sing and dance to “Sweet Caroline”, their voices echoing through the hall in a joy ous celebration of gratitude and camaraderie. It was a moment that captured the very heart of Michaelhouse – brotherhood, joy and shared memories. As the music faded and the lights dimmed, there was a sense that something special had come to an end – not just an eve ning but a chapter in the lives of these young men. The 2025 Matric Ball was more than a dance; it was a celebration of friendship, growth and the bonds that will forever tie the Class of 2025 to their alma mater. It was, quite simply, a night that will never be forgotten.

2025 – A NIGHT AT THE DUTTON RANCH

Under the soft glow of golden lights, the Mi chaelhouse Indoor Centre was almost unrec ognisable on the evening of the Matric Ball. The familiar space had been lovingly transformed into the Dut ton Ranch, inspired by the sweeping landscapes and rugged spirit of Yellowstone . Cowboy hats, soft draping and the hum of laughter set the tone for a night that will be remembered for years to come. The young men of Michaelhouse arrived proudly with their beautiful partners, ready to celebrate the end of their five year journey together. The transformation of the venue was nothing short of magical – thanks to the creativity and ded ication of Miss Cornelius and Mrs Ilne Visagie, who brought the vision of the evening to life. Muirhead’s Draping turned the Indoor Centre into a western dreamscape, and Hamblins Catering delighted everyone with a feast of hearty ranch-style
