The 2025 soccer season was once again one of pride, commitment and achievement for the boys of our school. With up to 29 teams across all age groups, participation re mained strong and enthusiasm for the game continued to grow. Our soccer programme provided an environment where boys were able to test their abilities, learn from one another, and develop the values of teamwork, discipline and perseverance that define our sporting ethos. During the season our teams played a total of 195 matches, re cording 92 victories, 67 losses and 36 draws. These results re flect not only the competitive spirit of our players but also their ability to perform consistently against strong opposition. Each fixture, whether won or lost, contributed to the boys’ growth as players and young men, building resilience and a deeper under standing of the game. This year also saw our participation in the Inland C League during the second term, where we competed against Umvuzo High School, Newton School and Maritzburg College C. The league provided a competitive and rewarding experience for our boys, allowing them to measure their progress against respected op ponents. We are delighted to announce that Michaelhouse won the Inland C League and will be moving up to compete in the Inland B League next year. This promotion marks an important milestone in the development of our soccer programme and re flects the steady progress being made across all teams. A further highlight of the season was the exceptional perfor mance of three of our senior boys, who were selected to repre sent the KZN U19A provincial team. This honour is a testament to their talent, hard work and dedication, as well as the high standards maintained by our soccer programme. Their selec tion brought great pride to the school and served as a source of inspiration for our younger players.
