reflected the hard work, determination and depth of our teams, and set the tone for a season full of success and memorable moments on court. Another significant milestone was hosting the U19 Midlands District Trials, reinforcing our leadership in Midlands tennis and giving our boys valuable exposure to top regional competition. Our commitment to developing younger talent remained a priority. Michaelhouse once again hosted the U15 Racket Festival, drawing strong schools from across the country. We also proudly launched the inaugural U15 uMgungundlovu Mixed Doubles Cup, which concluded with Michaelhouse and St Mary’s DSG, Kloof, claiming the title against mixed teams from across the Midlands. The school celebrated further achievements on the festival front. Michaelhouse received its first invitation to the St Stithi ans Easter Tennis Festival, a testament to the rising profile of our tennis programme. We were also delighted to rejoin the St Anne’s Mixed Doubles Festival, giving players valuable compet itive experience in a fun and dynamic format. One of the standout moments of the year was our partici pation in the Sun City Schools Tennis Competition. The first team secured victory in their division, as did the second team in theirs. We also entered a junior Young Guns team for the first time, and they rose to the occasion with an outstanding fourth-place finish overall. These results underscored both the strength of individual players and the success of our de velopment pathway. A particularly memorable event this year was the Clark Cup, marking the Rector’s final appearance in this iconic boys-ver sus-staff-and-friends fixture. The boys extended their unbeaten streak, while Mr Clark was represented with great spirit by his daughter Kath. The event brought together staff, parents, Old Boys and friends of the school for a lively and meaningful after noon of tennis. Individually, several boys stood out. Matthew Bennett was se lected as reserve for the KZN U19B team, and Sam Porter, William Rattray, Joshuah Hoskings, Farai Muronda and Nathan Marshall represented the District team earlier in the year.
