and Grace College. Although we didn’t place in the top three this year, our boys showed unwavering team spirit and arrived at every event ready to give their best. On 3 June, Michaelhouse welcomed runners from more than 20 schools to its famous course. Known as one of the most chal lenging in the league, the route demands strength and stamina with its rough terrain, sharp uphills and steep downhills. Yet amidst the hard work, runners are treated to the breathtaking beauty of the Michaelhouse Nature Reserve – a reminder of why this race is such a highlight. Another standout moment came on 9 May when Kearsney joined us for a friendly run through the reserve. The day ended with Steri Stumpies, choc-chip biscuits and a refreshing swim in the dam – a perfect celebration of camaraderie and sport.

Cross-country at Michaelhouse is about more than racing; it’s about grit, determi nation and the friendships forged along the way. This year our athletes embodied these values, making 2025 a season of resilience and growth. The interschools league featured our runners competing in a series of demanding events, culminating in the final relay and prize-giving at St Anne’s.
