Cultural Week was Makhubalo Ikaneng’s new play, a one-man show titled Number 6 , which explores themes of choice, crime and accountability. Ikaneng’s broader career includes extensive directing for the SABC and eTV, international theatre tours, and the creation of the Young Authors’ Book Initiative. Through his artistic and educational work, Ikaneng champions storytelling as a force for empathy, growth and social change.
the Schlesinger Theatre turns 50. There will be some renova tions to keep the building modern and safe, and although we open with a busy schedule, we will be closing the doors for a short period. During this time we will show the main produc tion, Henry V , at the Amphitheatre in May. We aim to reopen the theatre in September with a magical variety show of past productions, with the casts including Old Boys and boys of Mi chaelhouse. The Schlesinger Theatre, at just about 50 years old, continues to be a place where the boys of Michaelhouse and the broader community meet.
2025 will be remembered for the challenging yet highly enter taining productions that came through the theatre. Next year
