MICHAELHOUSE IMPACT REPORT 2025 FINAL
THE IMPACT OF YOUR SUPPORT
BOYS In 2024 and 2025, 45% of Michaelhouse boys received financial assistance or scholarships , opening the doors of a Michaelhouse education to talented young men who might otherwise not have had the opportunity to attend. Your generosity ensures that our community remains diverse, dynamic and accessible - enriching the experience of every boy. Importantly, philanthropic support has also helped ease pressure on school fees , enabling Michaelhouse to maintain one of the most measured fee increase trajectories among South Africa’s leading independent schools. On page XX, we share the stories of three boys whose lives have been transformed through donor support, as well as the stories of two generous benefactors whose commitment continues to shape the future of the School. BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS Over the past two years, donor generosity has significantly enhanced the Michaelhouse campus , ensuring that our facilities reflect the excellence of our educational offering. Recent projects have included the extension of the newly renovated Chapel, Padel Courts, the renovated Roy Gathorne Cricket Pavilion, newly renovated Old Boys Club, the construction of new Tatham House, and the refurbishment of Pascoe and Farfield Houses . These developments not only improve daily life for current boys but also represent l ong-term investments in the sustainability and growth of Michaelhouse for generations to come . For 25 years, the CPT has extended the School’s impact beyond its gates. What began as support for Asithuthuke Combined School (formerly the “Farm School”) has grown into a far-reaching partnership supporting 16 schools and more than 6,000 learners between Howick and Mooi River. The Trust now funds ten focused initiatives , including boys’ service programmes, mathematics and literacy interventions, education technology, improved school functionality, transport solutions , and community enrichment through sport, art, music and theatre. In 2024 and 2025, more than R15 million was raised in support of these programmes - a remarkable testament to the shared commitment of the Michaelhouse community to meaningful and measurable impact.
