The boys have embraced our House values of significance, kindness, cheerfulness, dutifulness and manliness. These have been emphasized during House meetings, and evident during interhouse activities and when the boys cheered and celebrated achievements of fellow housemates.

This year we welcomed Mr Paul Snyman as our new Housemaster and Mr Justin McDougall as Assistant Housemaster, building on what Mr Mark Blew and Mr Sibonelo Khanyile established when we first opened our doors in 2020. They, along with Mrs Baillie, Ma’am Shelembe, the tutors and interns of Ralfe, have created a wonderful home away from home for the boys in the House. R

There have been many individual achievements this year which must be recognised.

The E Blockers began the year wide-eyed but adapted well to boarding life at Michaelhouse. Several boys excelled on the sports field, making their mark in different A teams: Jack Campbell, U14A cricket; Kumkani Dwenga, U14A rugby captain, U14A soccer, U14A basketball; Akhona Sayeeda, U14A and B rugby, school athletics. Congratulations to Tom Talbot-Frickel, who took top honours as the Ralfe Junior Table Tennis Champion. The House were particularly proud of our resident E Block musician, Connor Maitland. He played saxophone in the Orchestra and was selected to play in the Senior Jazz Band. He was also asked to play during war cries at rugby and hockey matches. His talents helped the House
