worthy because each individual had a part to play. Whether on the sports field or in the music school or classroom. E Block can be quite a challenging year, it being a new school with everyone having expectations of you. But the 2023 Tatham E Blockers showed us they were up for this challenge and very quickly became part of the Tatham brotherhood. At sports, Matthew Bennett excelled on the tennis court, making the first team. He succeeded in various matches throughout the year, especially on the tennis tour at Sun City. Still only in E Block, he has great potential for the future and can only im prove from here. Daniel Uys, who has an outsize passion for downhill mountain biking, reached great heights. He not only made the South African U14 team but also competed in the SA Enduro Championships, where he came first in the down hill event and second in the enduro. In a completely different sphere, Thomas Ries has a love for theatre, and this year had the privilege of representing South Africa at the World Cham pionships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, where he won three bronze medals and a gold.
