Pietermaritzburg. This is an extremely prestigious event and the boys must be congratulated on making it to the finals. Our team did remarkably well but lost very close fixtures and ended in a creditable fifth position. 2023 also saw the inaugural Schools Super Series. A number of our boys entered, playing matches in Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday evenings. This was a wonderful initiative by KZN Junior Squash. I am confident that this tournament will go from strength to strength. Once again we held a successful school squash championship. Jacob Sinclair and Joshua Hoatson played in the final of the senior championship. In the end, Jacob proved too strong for Joshua, taking the final quite comfortably, 3 games to 0. During

the third quarter our team travelled up to the Menlopark Stayers’ Festival. The team consisted of young players who represented their school with pride. They were able to win all their fixtures, learning a great deal along the way. It has been another rewarding year for Michaelhouse squash, with much thanks to the committed contributions of our coaches, Mrs McMichael (U15) and Mr Venter (first team).
