teaching personnel in a ratio of one teacher to 32 learners. This does not take into consideration how the enrolment is spread among the grades. By way of example, this means that a primary school comprising 200 children from grades R to 7 will have a total of seven educators. Often this results in multi-grading because of different class sizes. The effects of multi-grading compromise the quality of content delivered because the teacher has to spread his or her attention between classes. The Eduhelpers are placed in schools to mitigate such challenges. They gain valuable teaching experience while increasing the support provided to the teaching and administration staff in schools. This has played a significant role in improving overall academic results.

1. EDUHELPERS: Providing administration and teaching interns to assist with capacity. Our Eduhelpers, young graduates that we employ on a basic stipend to supplement the existing staff and add value to the teaching functionality of our schools, are a key resource to delivering additional skills and being role models to our learners and staff alike. The demand is high as they fill many teaching and administrative gaps from one community school to another. Educational help, as the name suggests, is one of our core projects, aiming to provide a sufficient number of skilled and motivated teachers in our partnership schools. The Department of Education policy of Post Provision Norms (PPN) is to appoint
