When I settled into my role as the Head of House, I knew no drastic changes were needed but I wanted to ensure that the boys took pride in Mackenzie. This was evident throughout the multitude of interhouse events that the boys participated in. Mackenzie’s inclusive nature and sense of hospitality makes it a place that the boys can confidently call home. 2023 has been a year to remember and will be great motivation for the years to come. The E Block boys delved deeply into their journey at Michaelhouse this year, immersing themselves in both academic and extracurricular pursuits. Among them, several individuals stood out for their remarkable achievements. Kganya Mondlane made his mark in the U14A soccer team and earned himself a spot in the KZN soccer team. Wonga Mlonzi similarly excelled in soccer, making the U14A team as well as the KZN team; Wonga also played U14A rugby. Noah Holl’s dedication to tennis earned him a spot in the U15B KZN tennis team. Jason Joiner demonstrated prowess in U14A hockey, U14A Inland hockey, and U14A cricket, exhibiting his multi- sport abilities. Trezeguet Hawkins showcased his skills on the court and field, contributing to the U14A basketball and U14A rugby teams.
